Thanks for joining me on this journey to Ortigia, Sicily!
Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
I had lived in London for a second time, in the east end of London for the first time and have enjoyed a large chunk of my time there. I had reignited old friendships and made new friends. Experienced fantastic culture, from museums, galleries, a wide variety of foods from across the globe and some of the craziest terrorists in the world all in the English capital.
Recently single, and a job that allows me to be anywhere around the world. I decided that time for a change was to be a way forward. (Even if for a few months) I had always had an interest in Sicily, and Ortigia, with its history and coast it seems like a great first step. Better weather, sea, sun and sand. With excellent food, a calm lifestyle, surfing, snowboarding, culture, cappuccino, Calcio (Italian for football), vast amounts of history, and a Sicilian volcano on my doorstep.
To all of you in London goodbye. So I’ve added this quote, which to me sums up life and I’ve posted over the years:
“‘while it’s tempting to play it safe, the more we’re willing to risk, the more alive we are. In the end, what we regret most are the chances we never took. And I hope that explains, at least a little, this journey on which I am about to embark.”
I will try to keep you up to speed with photos and adventures of Ortigia as well as the rest of Sicily. Keeping it as close to the truth as possible.
I have a book, an Instagram account and a Youtube channel, all below.
Check out my Youtube Channel below showing off this great island and town.

If you would like to know more about my adventures I have written a book about my time on the island of Ortigia, now available on Amazon.
On that final note, smoke me a kipper, I might be back for breakfast.
